Dear fellow Member-Partners,
Just some quick notes to let you know what we at League have been doing to make your tax season go a little more smoothly.
First, KPMG is currently working on preparing 2007 tax slips for all Member-Partners in all investments. Tax slips for IGW Investments 1 and 2 (for the registered bonds) have already been mailed, and the rest will be sent out prior to the March 31 deadline.
Second, I am pleased to announce that thanks to significant investment in our information technology infrastructure - including a $100,000 investment in state-of-the-art-asset management software and a complete re-coding of our proprietary membership administration system - not only will your investment statements be delivered to you by mail and e-mail in the next two weeks, but we will soon be providing Member-Partners with direct access to their investment accounts via the new Members area on League's website.
The upcoming online access will provide up-to-the-minute investment status as well as archived log reports for every investment, redemption, and monthly distribution made since January 2007. Within the next few weeks, we hope to finish testing and provide members with their passwords for accessing this new feature.
In other news, we have recently doubled our accounting staff!
Our team now consists of: VP Finance, Ryan Dunlop CA; Controller, Monique Tolen; and Accounting Assistants, Ashley Emerson and Andrea Sanders. Also, serving in an adjunct capacity is William G. Crossley - a veteran CA with extensive experience in public company reporting. They are all working together to support KPMG in providing timely Audited Statements for 2007.
In recent months, League's staff has grown to twenty-one strong. I look forward to introducing and re-introducing you to all of them in a forthcoming letter.
I am working on several updates and announcements, so keep your eyes on your inboxes.
Regards,
Emanuel Arruda
